Ways to Give

You can partner with the Sisters of Divine Providence in making God’s Providence more visible in our world in a variety of ways that include monetary as well as prayerful support. We invite you to choose the option that works best for you:

Gift of Cash
Gift of Appreciated Stock
Gift of Life Insurance
Wills and Other Legacy Gifts
Memorials and Tributes
Matching Gifts
Providence Partners

Gift of Cash

Cash, checks and online donations are very popular methods of giving. Checks or money orders can be made payable to the Sisters of Divine Providence. To make an online gift, you may donate now.

Gift of Appreciated Stock

Gifts of stock offer a two-fold tax advantage. First, you receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date the gift is given. Second, you avoid paying the high capital gains tax on the increase of value of your stock. If you would like to make such a gift or know someone who is interested in doing so, contact your area development office.  As with all such gifts, we recommend that you consult your financial advisor.

Gift of Life Insurance

Name the Sisters of Divine Providence as both the owner and/or beneficiary of a life insurance policy. If the policy has a cash value, you may take a charitable deduction equal to the cash value of the policy at the time you make the gift. Payment of the annual premium can also be considered a charitable deduction. Consult your financial advisor to see if this gift plan works best for you.

Wills and Other Legacy Gifts

“Please remember the Sisters of Divine Providence in your  will.” This statement appears in our newsletter regularly. Designating the Sisters of Divine Providence as a beneficiary in your will is a way to ensure that the mission of Providence continues.

Other options for planned gifts, that is, gifts that benefit the Sisters at the time of the donor’s death, include living trust bequests and life insurance/IRA beneficiary designations. Please consult your financial advisor to see which gift plan works best for you.

If you support the mission of the Sisters of Divine Providence, and elect this type of support for the future, contact your area development office.

If you have already named the Sisters of Divine Providence in your will, please notify the appropriate area development office by mail, email, or phone.

Memorials and Tributes

Memorials and Tributes
Memorials (for the deceased) and tributes (for the living) are wonderful ways to honor your loved ones. A memorial is also a way to honor or pay tribute to a Sister who has meant something special to you or a family member. A card will be sent to the person(s) of your choice acknowledging your gift to the Sisters. For more information, click on Providence Prayer Enrollment.

Matching Gifts

Many companies have an employee matching gift program. This means that an employee’s charitable gift is matched by the employer. Under these programs, you may be able to double, or even triple your donation!

Participating companies generally require the employee to obtain the company’s matching gift form – usually from personnel or human resources offices. Check whether they match gifts to charitable and/or religious organizations. If you need further guidance, contact your area development office.
