Our Mission is . . .

To model a determined, active, Christian faith that characterizes and permeates all segments of our lives;To instill a sense of responsibility for each child's future in communion with others ; To encourage an appreciation of academic challenge and success for each individual;To develop an understanding and genuine concern, respect, and affirmation of the unique giftedness of each individual;To foster skills of self-discipline, leadership, critical thinking, and the ability to stand up for personal convictions;
To enable each individual to reverence the Gift of Life.

Sacred Heart Pre-Primary is a segment of a K-12 complex under the direction of the Sisters of Divine Providence. Sacred Heart is a unique Christian community organized to foster the spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each child. All of these are accomplished in the spirit of dedication, freedom, and love that is rooted in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.

We believe that Sacred Heart is a place where young children learn to live, work, and play with their peers. Recognizing that children differ in their interests, past experiences, abilities, and rate of growth, we expose them to many varied and multi-leveled opportunities.

Entrance Requirements

A child entering Sacred Heart Pre-Primary School (kindergarten) must be five years of age by August 31. A health form and birth certificate are required with the registration form at the time the child is accepted. Each child must be immunized according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health before October of the kindergarten year. These dates should be registered and kept up to date for each child.

Curriculum

At Sacred Heart Pre-Primary, we believe in a holistic approach to educating all aspects of the child's growth and development. We take into consideration the child's individual personality, variable rate of maturation, and learning skills when planning the specific curriculum.

These skills reinforce the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of each child. Hands-on experiences and activities are planned according to the calendar year by themes and units that are relevant to the children, providing meaningful learning.
