Mission
Providence Connections, Inc., sponsored by the Sisters of Divine Providence, is rooted in the congregation’s heritage of service and justice. We provide vision, support and governance to our three ministries that serve families in need.
Providence Connections, on Pittsburgh 's North Side, was formed in 1994 after the Sisters of Divine Providence sold Divine Providence Hospital to Mercy Health System. The Community wanted to maintain a connection to this Pittsburgh neighborhood, and now focus on the struggling parents who need support services to enable them to provide for their families. These families find a welcoming atmosphere at Providence Family Support Center , the largest of the three Providence Connections agencies.
In Pittsburgh's South Hills, we offer care for children at Providence Child Care Center - South in Castle Shannon. In Clarion County , women and children who are homeless or fleeing domestic violence can find a home at Amelia House.
