On the Feast of the Visitation, May 31,2006, Sister Tania Santander Atauchi pronounced her final vows at a Eucharistic Liturgy at Sacred Heart High School in Kingston, Ma. Her mother, Nieves Atauchi Peña was able to travel from Peru for this very special occasion. Sister Mary Francis Fletcher received Sister Tania’s vows in the name of the Community. Following the Mass, a dinner was held at Providence House. Sister Tania, who works at Stonehill College, welcomed many of her colleagues to the festivities, including Fr. Richard Gribble, CSC, the presider for the liturgy and Fr. Mark Cregan, CSC, president of the college.
The Final Vow ceremony is a wonderful opportunity for all present to reflect on and renew their own commitments. It offers a deep sense of new life. We also ask for prayers for those Sisters who are in the process of becoming incorporated into the Community: Sisters Gladys Segovia, Veronica Kim, Roxanna Solano and Sonia Saenz, as well as pre-novitiate candidates, Wendolyn Lopez and Maria Cabrera. Our province is tremendously blessed to have these women in the process of learning about and discerning their call to join the Sisters of Divine Providence.
