To
live “in community” is to be a part of something greater
than ourselves. As Sisters of Divine Providence, we live together,
sharing prayer, meals and daily activities. We support each other
in times of transition, joining one another in sorrow and celebration.
Community living calls us to self-sacrifice, a willingness to place
the needs of others above the wants of self. Living in community,
we develop bonds of friendship, trust and compassion.
Prayer Life
Communal
prayer and personal reflection enable us to deepen our faith in
a Provident God and bring us to a fuller understanding of ourselves
and our relationships. In prayer and daily interaction, we share
faith with one another—our stories of how God has transformed
us and our world. Prayer is our fountain of grace, and from this
fountain, we are strengthened to “commit ourselves to co-create
a world of compassion, justice and peace.” (CDP Mission Statement,
2003)
