Memorials & Tributes

Memorials (for the deceased) and tributes (for the living) are wonderful ways to honor your loved ones. A memorial is also a way to honor or pay tribute to a Sister who has meant something special to you or a family member. A card will be sent to the person(s) of your choice acknowledging your gift to the Sisters.

Memorialize with an obituary notice If you are faced with composing an obituary notice, you may wish to add the following wording: "In memory of (name of your loved one) , the family requests that a donation be made to the Sisters of Divine Providence and sent to the Office of Development." (Click here to see the applicable Office of Development address.)

Memorialize through a dedicated memorial fund, an engraved brick, or by adopting a tree. A dedicated memorial fund as well as engraved bricks and adopting trees are ways to honor a loved one or to remember a Sister of the community. Several memorial funds have been established with specific funding goals. New ones may be established upon request.

Please contact your area development office to learn more about these memorials.

Memorialize with an endowment fund. An endowment fund is established in memory or in honor of a loved one with a minimum $10,000 gift. Please contact your area development office for further guidance.
Memorialize through a prayer enrollment. These are gifts made to the Sisters of Divine Providence requesting that a loved one be enrolled in the prayers of the Sisters. There are several types of enrollments ranging from requests for healing, to acknowledgments (anniversaries, births, tributes, etc.) to deaths. Regardless of the occasion, enrollments promise the thoughts and prayers of the Sisters. Read more about enrollments by clicking now.

For more information on gifting to the Sisters in any of the ways discussed above, please email any one of these development directors or you can send by regular mail using this form.
