Amelia House In nearby Clarion County, Amelia House, a SAFE house, provides temporary housing for women and children who are homeless or the victims of domestic violence and other violent crimes. With outreach into homes, counseling, and support programs that teach and strengthen, the ministries of Providence Connections have helped many women and families gain a sense of hope. Rooted in Providence, this ministry is a response to the needs of the time. Services Amelia House offers temporary housing, from one night to one year. We also provide: - Personal and legal referrals
- Personal and legal referrals to other community resources via SAFE (Stop Abuse for Everyone)
- Life skills training, such as budgeting and parenting skills
- Support within a safe home environment
- Time to rebuild lives
Amelia House residents have the following rights: - To be treated like a resident, not a tenant
- To have civil rights honored
- To endure no discrimination regarding age, sex, creed, ethnic group, color, national origin, marital status, economic status, sexual orientation, handicap or religion
- To receive considerate and respectful treatment
Amelia House residents have the following responsibilities: - To keep the location of Amelia House and its residents' identities confidential
- To provide accurate information
- To be responsible for self and own children
- To participate in household chores
- To cooperate with SAFE staff and other agencies
- To seek own housing while residing at Amelia House
